Materials
Mild steel round bar: 10–12 mm, 900–1100 mm long
Steps
Forge the tip: Heat 100–150 mm and draw out to a long taper (poker point).
Dress with light planishing blows to keep it straight.
Create handle section: Heat a 200–250 mm section near the other end.
Twist the handle (optional): Clamp in vise and twist 180–360°.
Form a loop end: Heat the very end and curl a hanging loop.
Straighten the shaft: Roll on the anvil face and correct bends hot.
